Real Madrid have faced a more challenging start to the season than anticipated, with injuries, two draws, and increased media scrutiny adding pressure on Carlo Ancelotti's squad. Central to the media attention are Vinicius Junior and, to a lesser extent, Rodrygo Goes.

Vinicius' recent comments to CNN, suggesting that Spain might not deserve to host the 2030 World Cup if it doesn’t improve its handling of racism, have sparked significant backlash from Spanish media and politicians. Rodrygo, meanwhile, has expressed frustration over his lower profile compared to Vinicius and Kylian Mbappé, as well as his exclusion from the Ballon d'Or shortlist.

These incidents have reportedly frustrated Real Madrid, particularly because such controversies often arise during international breaks. According to Marca, the club has now introduced a rule requiring all player interviews to be approved by them beforehand, aiming to prevent further distractions.

While Vinicius and Rodrygo might not be entirely to blame for the media storm, their statements have diverted attention away from football. Vinicius, in particular, reportedly feels targeted by a campaign against him in Spain, and a break from media appearances might allow him to refocus.
