According to journalist Ángel García, Álvaro Arbeloa, who is close to becoming Fulham’s new head coach, has requested the signing of Víctor Valdepeñas for his new project in the Premier League.
The Real Madrid Castilla defender is well known to the former Real Madrid coach, who is expected to take over the London club following Marco Silva’s departure from Craven Cottage.
Arbeloa is said to have strong confidence in the development of young players, and Valdepeñas is reportedly one of the profiles he wants for his squad as he prepares to begin his new project in England.
The left-back has also attracted interest from several clubs and is regarded as one of the most promising young talents within Real Madrid’s academy system.
Arbeloa is fully aware of Valdepeñas’ defensive qualities, his ability to play out from the back, and his significant potential for further development. Should his move to Fulham be confirmed, the Castilla defender could become one of the club’s first signings under his management.
It is also possible that Arbeloa could look further into the Real Madrid academy market, with his preference for youth talent well documented and additional moves not ruled out during the summer window.
