José Mourinho has reportedly identified Morten Hjulmand as one of his preferred signings for Real Madrid ahead of next season.

According to Miguel Ángel Díaz of Cadena COPE, the Portuguese coach has asked the club to closely monitor the Sporting CP midfielder, whose valuation is believed to be around €50 million.

Hjulmand, 26, is regarded as a midfielder whose profile fits Mourinho’s tactical approach. The Danish international is known for maintaining positional discipline in defensive transitions, helping provide balance while allowing teammates more freedom in attack.

In possession, he operates as a deep-lying playmaker, responsible for organizing the buildup and progressing the ball through midfield. His technical quality and passing vision have drawn comparisons to players such as Rodri due to his ability to control tempo and distribute from deep areas, rather than functioning primarily as a ball-winning midfielder.

Mourinho is believed to value the Sporting midfielder highly and sees him as a player capable of taking another step forward under his guidance at Real Madrid.
