Franck Ribéry once again shared one of those unforgettable anecdotes that perfectly capture his career. The former Bayern Munich star revisited a fiery Champions League clash against Real Madrid, recalling just how intense things became on the pitch.
“I shouted at Carvajal and ended up slapping him,” Ribéry admitted with a laugh. “From that moment on, Ramos and Pepe decided to make my life impossible. Every time I touched the ball, they looked at me like they wanted to kill me.”
According to the Frenchman, the match quickly turned into open warfare. “It stopped being about football and became a matter of survival. Pepe wasn’t even trying to win the ball anymore, he was just chasing me,” he said.
Ribéry, never one to shy away from physical battles, confessed that night showed him the harshest side of Real Madrid. “With them, there was no truce. Not even a second to breathe,” he concluded.
