The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has officially confirmed the start and end dates for Spain’s domestic league competitions, with the dates for the fixture draws to be announced shortly.

LaLiga EA Sports, Spain’s top-tier league, will kick off on the weekend of August 17, 2025, and will conclude on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Meanwhile, LaLiga Hypermotion, the second division, will wrap up a week later, on Sunday, May 31.

As in previous years, the competition will follow the “free asymmetric format,” ensuring no two matchdays share the same structure. The calendar will also account for key dates such as FIFA international windows and the promotion play-offs to LaLiga Hypermotion.

In the 2025–26 season, LaLiga EA Sports will feature three midweek matchdays, while the second division will only include one. Additionally, Real Madrid and other clubs will pause for five FIFA international breaks to allow players to join their national teams: from September 1–9, October 6–14, and November 10–18 in 2025, as well as March 23–31 and June 1–9 in 2026.

There will also be a holiday break after Sunday, December 21, with the league resuming over the weekend of January 4, 2026—just ahead of Spain’s traditional Three Kings’ Day celebrations.
