Real Madrid are reportedly determined to appeal the red card shown to Vinicius Júnior during the previous matchday, following the controversy surrounding his clash with a Villarreal player. While some believe the Brazilian deliberately grabbed his opponent's hair, others argue that the images show his hand becoming accidentally caught in the player's curls.
According to Miguel Ángel Díaz on Cadena COPE's morning radio programme, Real Madrid intend to pursue the appeal as far as possible. "Real Madrid is going to the end and is going to appeal the red card that Vinicius received. At the club they are aware that it will be difficult for Vinicius to play 'the Clásico'. We'll see if he gets two or three games," he said.
The club reportedly recognise that overturning the dismissal may be difficult, with Vinicius potentially facing a suspension that could rule him out of the upcoming Clásico against Barcelona.
