Real Madrid have almost finalized their preseason schedule for the 2026-27 campaign, opting for a different approach following a summer affected by the World Cup.
According to Diario AS, the club has decided against touring the United States or Asia and will instead complete all of its preparations in Europe. The plan is designed to give José Mourinho more time to work with the squad while reducing travel.
Preseason will officially begin on July 13 at Real Madrid City, where the players will gradually return following their summer break and World Cup commitments.
The report states that Real Madrid have scheduled four friendly matches before the start of the official season, all of which will be played in Europe.
Two fixtures have already been confirmed. The first will take place on August 1, when Real Madrid travel to Austria for a preseason friendly against Fiorentina at the Wörthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt, at 6:00 PM.
The second confirmed match is the 81st edition of the Teresa Herrera Trophy, where Mourinho's side will face Deportivo La Coruña on August 12 at 9:00 p.m. at the Riazor Stadium. The match marks Real Madrid's return to the historic tournament for the first time since 2013.
The remaining two friendlies have yet to be officially announced. According to the report, the club is working to finalize the schedule, with the aim of giving Mourinho the opportunity to test different tactical systems, rotate the squad and assess several academy players before the new season begins.
