Real Madrid continue to shape Pedro Martínez's squad and are preparing two more additions to strengthen their frontcourt ahead of the new season.
According to EL ESPAÑOL, the club is close to completing the signings of two centers Olivier Sarr and Damian Jones as part of its plans to reinforce the interior positions.
The moves respond to a clear need within the roster. Real Madrid want greater depth in the frontcourt, especially after Usman Garuba suffered a complete Achilles tendon rupture during the EuroLeague Final Four, an injury that is expected to keep him sidelined until the final stage of the season.
Olivier Sarr, the older brother of NBA player Alexandre Sarr, arrives after spending time in the United States with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a two-way contract. He offers size, athleticism, mobility and the ability to adapt to European basketball.
Damian Jones would provide experience and physical strength. The 2.13-meter center spent several seasons in the NBA and won two championships with the Golden State Warriors. His role would be to support Walter Tavares in the rotation and add more defensive presence and power in the paint.
With these two expected additions, Real Madrid would have almost completed the restructuring of its frontcourt for Pedro Martínez's first season in charge.
