Real Madrid have reaffirmed their intention to activate the buy-back clause for Nico Paz during a meeting with Como held on Thursday.
The Spanish club informed Como that it will exercise the clause, valued at €9 million, a position that had already been communicated informally in recent days but was reiterated directly during discussions between the two clubs.
The formal activation of the clause is expected in the coming days, after which Nico Paz will officially return to Real Madrid.
Should Como wish to bring the Argentine midfielder back following his return to Madrid, the Italian club would need to negotiate a new transfer with Real Madrid. Como do not hold any preferential purchase rights or a buy-back option that would allow them to automatically re-sign the player.
According to reports, Real Madrid would value Nico Paz at around €60 million. The midfielder is currently focused on his World Cup commitments before his future is determined.
