Real Madrid is stepping up its pursuit of Rodri Hernández, with the club determined to complete the signing as quickly as possible. After months of internal discussions over a potential move for the Manchester City midfielder, Los Blancos are now fully committed to bringing him to the Santiago Bernabéu.
According to José Félix Díaz, the operation could be finalized within the next 24 hours, provided the remaining negotiations progress as expected.
Personal terms with Rodri have already been agreed, meaning the only outstanding issue is the transfer fee between the two clubs. Real Madrid hopes to complete the deal for around €40-50 million, while Manchester City is seeking €50-60 million, leaving a relatively small gap that both sides will attempt to bridge in the coming hours.
Rodri himself has been a decisive factor throughout the process. The Spain international made it clear from the outset that he was interested in joining Real Madrid, keeping the possibility of a move alive throughout the summer. Following his outstanding World Cup campaign and confirmation that he has fully recovered from his knee injury, the Madrid club decided to accelerate its pursuit.
Although Manchester City was initially reluctant to part ways with one of its key players, Rodri's desire to fulfill his ambition of playing for Real Madrid has opened the door for negotiations between the two clubs.
