Real Madrid will open 2026 with an intense and demanding schedule. The team is set to play at least seven matches across four different competitions during January, a figure that could rise to eight if they reach the Spanish Super Cup final.
Xabi Alonso’s side will begin the year at the Bernabéu, hosting Real Betis on matchday 19 of La Liga. Four days later, Real Madrid will travel to Saudi Arabia to compete in the Spanish Super Cup, where they are scheduled to face Atlético Madrid in the semi-final. A victory would secure a place in the final on January 11 in Jeddah, against either Athletic Club or Barcelona.
Mid-January will also mark the return of Copa del Rey. The team will play the round of 16 on January 13 or 14, with the draw set to take place on Wednesday, January 7. Domestic action continues on Saturday, January 17, when Levante visit the Bernabéu for another La Liga fixture.
European competition then returns to Madrid, as the Champions League resumes with a home match against Monaco four days later.
The month will conclude with two away trips. On January 24 or 25, Real Madrid will visit Villarreal for matchday 21 of La Liga, before traveling to Lisbon on Wednesday the 28th to face Benfica in the final group-stage match of the Champions League.
