Yan Diomandé is on course to become Real Madrid's marquee signing of the summer. At just 19 years old, the RB Leipzig winger has emerged as one of the most coveted young talents in European football after only two seasons at senior level with Leganés and RB Leipzig.
The pursuit has not been a last-minute move. Although negotiations have accelerated in recent days, Real Madrid had been monitoring the player for some time. The operation gathered momentum following a meeting in Germany between representatives of both clubs, after Los Blancos reportedly secured the player's approval for the move.
Diomandé, widely regarded as one of the Bundesliga's breakout stars last season alongside Michael Olise, has become a priority target for the Spanish giants.
While the transfer has yet to be finalized, reports suggest the deal could be completed for a fee in the region of €115-120 million.
For much of the summer, the former Leganés winger appeared destined for Paris Saint-Germain, particularly during the World Cup. However, Real Madrid have quietly worked behind the scenes and, amid the constant speculation surrounding Olise, shifted their focus to Diomandé, who has now emerged as one of the club's leading transfer objectives.
