Real Madrid has set its sights on Rodri Hernández as one of the key targets for the upcoming summer transfer window. The Manchester City midfielder is seen as an ideal solution to strengthen a midfield that has lacked the organizational presence once provided by Toni Kroos.
According to reports, the club does not view Rodri as a replacement for Aurélien Tchouaméni, but rather as a complementary piece. The idea at the Bernabéu is to rebuild a balanced midfield structure reminiscent of the successful trio formed by Casemiro, Kroos, and Luka Modric—this time with Tchouaméni, Rodri, and Arda Güler.
To complete that trio, Rodri is considered the missing piece. The Spanish international is reportedly open to a move to Madrid and has never ruled out the possibility. Meanwhile, Manchester City is aware of the situation and has accelerated efforts to renew his contract, although no agreement has been reached so far.
Real Madrid remains patient, confident in the player’s interest and aware that final decisions will depend on the appointment of the next manager. Depending on the coach’s profile, the club could either push for Rodri or opt for a different type of midfielder.
In any case, Rodri’s name is expected to remain closely linked with Real Madrid throughout the summer, regardless of how events unfold.
