Real Madrid capped off an extraordinary regular season by defeating Casademont Zaragoza 89-104 on the road, notching their 22nd consecutive win and securing a flawless second half of the campaign — winning all 17 matches since the midseason point.
With this feat, Chus Mateo’s squad becomes only the second team in ACB history to achieve a perfect second half, following in the footsteps of Lolo Sainz’s legendary 1984–85 Real Madrid side.
Mario Hezonja delivered a stellar performance, especially in the fourth quarter, where he scored 13 of his 23 points, while Hugo González added 14 points and a 20 PIR, leading a group of five players who scored in double figures.
Now, Real Madrid turns their focus to the playoffs, where they’ll face Baskonia in the quarterfinals with home court advantage. The first game of the series is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:00 PM, at the Movistar Arena.
