Alex Len is on the verge of returning to Europe to sign with Real Madrid, stepping in to replace Bruno Fernando, who recently joined Partizan.
According to Michael Scotto of Hoopshype, the Ukrainian center has decided to continue his career in Spain after spending 12 seasons in the NBA. The reported deal includes an NBA opt-out clause for the summer, suggesting that it runs at least until 2027.
Len, who left Europe as a teenager to play in the NCAA, was selected 5th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns. Throughout his NBA career, he also suited up for the Kings, Raptors, Hawks, and Lakers, appearing in 690 games with averages of 6.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game.
