Carvajal’s current circumstances add to that uncertainty. Despite renewing his contract in October 2024, a recent injury to his right foot could impact his availability for the final stretch of the season. When viewed together, the list of captains who left shortly after wearing the armband highlights a clear trend within the club’s ongoing transition.

Real Madrid continues to evolve, moving forward with a new generation while closing chapters from the past. The captain’s armband remains one of the club’s greatest honors, but in recent seasons, it has also come to signal the end of an era.
