Dani Ceballos has reportedly requested to leave Real Madrid as a free agent this summer, with the club willing to grant his wish if he secures an agreement with a new team.

The midfielder is eager to begin a new chapter in his career and believes his opportunities for regular playing time next season will be limited. Following a conversation with José Mourinho, Ceballos reportedly concluded that his role in the squad would be reduced and decided to explore options elsewhere.

Real Madrid have not stood in his way. In fact, after reviewing the situation internally and consulting with Mourinho, the club approved the player's request to leave despite having a contract until 2027. The decision would also help ease congestion in the squad and free up a place for other players.

However, no move has been completed so far. Contrary to speculation, the delay is not due to any change in Real Madrid's stance. The club remains willing to release Ceballos, but the player wants to finalize an agreement with a new club before officially ending his contract.

At the moment, that agreement has yet to materialize. A return to Real Betis remains uncertain, while no other club has presented an offer convincing enough for the midfielder to take the next step.

For Real Madrid, the situation is clear. The club has already given its approval and is waiting for Ceballos to decide his future once he finds the right destination for the next stage of his career.
