Real Madrid and adidas have brought back one of the most acclaimed jerseys of recent years: the iconic Y-3 Dragon, designed by Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto for the 2014/15 season.
The original design marked a milestone in football culture, bringing together sport, fashion, and design. It also launched the first collaboration between Real Madrid and Y-3. The new release recreates the famous third kit from that season, featuring the striking dragon across the front against a dark grey background.
Inspired by Eastern symbolism, the dragon represents strength, ambition, and power. The two-headed dragon symbolises the prestige of those who wear it, while the bird motif reflects agility and the pursuit of success. Together, the designs embody Real Madrid's constant ambition to achieve excellence.
The Y-3 Dragon jersey has since become one of the most sought-after football collectibles of the 21st century. The new collection includes short- and long-sleeved jerseys, a jacket, and tracksuit bottoms. It is now available at selected adidas stores, adidas.com, and Real Madrid stores.
