Real Madrid have reportedly taken another significant step in their pursuit of Manchester City midfielder Rodri.

According to L'Équipe, club representatives recently held a discreet meeting in Madrid with Rodri's entourage to discuss the framework of a potential transfer and the conditions of a future contract.

The report claims Real Madrid are prepared to offer the Spain international a four-year deal until June 2030. The club also intends to keep any transfer fee in the region of €60 million, a figure they consider fair given the player's age, contract situation and long-term financial strategy.

Within the club, Rodri is increasingly viewed as the ideal solution to strengthen the midfield. Real Madrid believe the Ballon d'Or winner possesses the leadership, composure and playmaking ability the team lacked throughout last season.

The final obstacle remains negotiations with Manchester City. Reports continue to suggest that Rodri is open to joining Real Madrid this summer, but any deal will depend on whether the Premier League club is willing to enter discussions.
