Osasuna have made their position clear regarding the future of Víctor Muñoz, refusing to negotiate below his €40 million release clause despite a verbal offer of around €25 million from Sunderland. Sporting director Braulio Vázquez was firm on the club’s stance, emphasizing that they will not consider offers under the clause.

A key factor in the situation is that Real Madrid retain 50% of the player’s rights, meaning half of any transfer fee would go to the club. In addition, Real Madrid hold a buy-back option that becomes active from this summer, giving them significant control over the player’s future.

Vázquez acknowledged this dynamic while addressing the growing interest in the striker, whose name has been linked with several clubs. “Real Madrid has a three-year buy-back clause that has already been agreed upon. What we're doing is enjoying Víctor until the end of the season. Football is very unpredictable.”

The forward has experienced a rapid rise in recent months, going from a promising talent to a Spanish international and one of the standout players of the season. Despite Osasuna’s desire to keep him, the club recognizes that his future may be influenced by external factors.

"Many people criticized us for signing such a young player with so few minutes in La Liga. Now they're asking us why we didn't buy him outright. It's complicated. We happily accepted the terms Real Madrid set. Víctor Muñoz made the right call, and so did we," Vázquez concluded.
