Castilla center-back Oscar Naasei trained with Mourinho during Real Madrid's second session of the week and has emerged as a potential option for Saturday's squad against Villarreal.
The club is dealing with several issues in central defense ahead of the match at the Santiago Bernabéu. Huijsen is suspended, Asencio is injured, Konaté is carrying a knock, while Militao is still recovering from his injury. The situation has therefore prompted Real Madrid to consider options to reinforce the position.
Konaté's recovery will be closely monitored, while Tchouaméni is once again being considered as a possible partner for Rüdiger against Villarreal. However, Mourinho is also looking to Castilla for additional defensive reinforcements, with Naasei among the strongest candidates alongside Mario Rivas and Joan Martínez.
Naasei made 37 appearances in the Segunda División last season and is regarded as an important prospect for Real Madrid's future. According to the latest Transfermarkt update, his market value has already reached €2 million, exceeding the fee paid for him. Breaking into the first team would represent the next major step in his development.
