José Mourinho has firmly ruled out the possibility of Endrick leaving Real Madrid in January, making it clear that any club hoping to sign the Brazilian striker will have to look elsewhere. Speaking to TNT Brazil, the Portuguese coach delivered a categorical message about the forward's future.

“They can forget about it, they can forget about it. If any interested club is waiting for Endrick, they can wait sitting down, because they'll get tired of waiting .”

Mourinho had already blocked a potential departure towards the end of the summer transfer window, when a loan move to Roma was close to being finalised. The coach personally asked Endrick to stay, bringing those negotiations to an end. Now, he has reiterated his position before the possibility of a January exit can gather momentum.

Mourinho also explained why Endrick has struggled to get opportunities recently. The Brazilian was sidelined for four to five weeks with an injury when the coach arrived, and his return has coincided with limited opportunities to feature.

“He had an injury that kept him out of the team for more than a month, between four and five weeks, when I arrived. But I spoke with him, and it's true that after recovering, we've barely been able to use him... The team's luck wasn't on his side, because when we scored (against Villarreal), Bernardo and he were about to come on. But at that moment, we scored, and being ahead, on top of that, with ten men... a coach changes his mind and looks at other options.”

Despite Endrick's limited playing time, Mourinho made it clear that he remains a key part of his plans and has considerable confidence in the young striker's potential.

“Endrick is a player I adore, a player I love. A player with great potential who is very important for us ,” he added.

The Portuguese coach concluded with another unequivocal statement about the forward's future ahead of the match against Roma: “Anyone interested in Endrick will have to compete with me. I don’t think he needs to go out on loan; he’ll be very successful here.”
