According to Cortegana, José Mourinho is planning a return to the principles that defined his first spell at Real Madrid, with the Portuguese coach looking to reintroduce a tactical approach that previously delivered success at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Since Mourinho's departure, Real Madrid have largely operated with a 4-3-3 formation, a system designed to provide balance while maximizing the impact of the team's attacking players. However, the new coach is reportedly considering a switch to a 4-2-3-1 setup, believing it is better suited to the qualities and versatility of the current squad.
The proposed change is also based on the belief that the team can function more effectively within that structure.
Cortegana further reports that Mourinho's plans include restoring Jude Bellingham to a more advanced role. The England international would operate as an attacking midfielder, serving as the link between midfield and attack.
Bellingham is expected to play a central role under Mourinho, who reportedly views him as one of the squad's most complete players and a key figure in the club's long-term sporting project.
