José Mourinho has reportedly identified Sami Khedira as the final addition he wants to complete his coaching staff at Real Madrid.
According to the report, the Portuguese coach has been in contact with his former player in recent days in an effort to convince him to join his backroom team for his second spell at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Khedira is seen as a profile that fits Mourinho’s requirements. The staff is expected to include five trusted assistants, but Mourinho also wanted to bring in a former Real Madrid player to strengthen the group.
In recent weeks, Pepe had been mentioned as a possible candidate for the role, although the player appeared to distance himself from that idea during last Saturday’s Corazón Classic Match, offering no clear confirmation about the plan.
Sami Khedira, however, has no coaching experience at this stage. Since retiring as a player, he has focused on building a media career and is currently established as a television analyst in Germany.
