The possibility of José Mourinho returning to Real Madrid has gained momentum, with renewed speculation surrounding the club’s coaching position. More than a decade after his departure, the Portuguese manager has reportedly been offered to the club by his entourage, led by Jorge Mendes, as confirmed by José Félix Díaz.

Mourinho is currently under contract with Benfica, having joined at the start of the season following his exit from Fenerbahçe. Reports suggest he would welcome a return to the Santiago Bernabéu, although Real Madrid would need to pay around €3 million to secure his release.

Several candidates have been linked with the role, but Mourinho’s name has recently gained prominence. According to the same source, he is now considered a leading option to take charge next season.

Meanwhile, Álvaro Arbeloa is reportedly not in contention for the position. Club president Florentino Pérez is said to favor Mourinho as the ideal figure to lead the next phase of the team and address the changes needed within the squad.
