One of the few positive aspects of last season for Real Madrid was the depth provided by the club's academy. During a difficult period marked by numerous injuries, Álvaro Arbeloa placed his trust in several Castilla players, who responded whenever they were called upon.

The clearest example was Thiago Pitarch. The young midfielder emerged as a reliable option in midfield, providing composure and even making a strong impression during the Champions League knockout rounds.

His performances did not go unnoticed at Valdebebas, and José Mourinho has also been impressed since returning to the club. The Portuguese coach has confirmed that Pitarch is part of his plans and will remain with the first-team squad this season.

"He might play occasionally, but he's no longer a player for the division Castilla is in. He's a first-team player and I like him a lot," Mourinho said at his press conference ahead of the match against Málaga.

The manager also made it clear that he has complete confidence in the midfielder, who is currently recovering from the ligament injury he suffered last July. Once he is fit again, Mourinho expects him to return to the squad and compete for minutes.

"He has a quality I love. He's part of my group. When he's fit, he'll be included and will get playing time."

However, Mourinho also believes Pitarch must improve physically to cope with the demands of first-team football. The coach highlighted the need for him to build more strength in his legs as he continues his development.

"What I tell him is that his leg muscles are the same as mine; he needs to put more weight on his legs."
