Kylian Mbappé is approaching the World Cup with one clear objective: leading France back to the top of world football and securing the second world title of his career.

The Real Madrid forward arrives at the tournament after a difficult season in which he faced criticism following a campaign without major trophies. In an interview with Le Parisien, Mbappé admitted that he needs to improve one aspect of his game that has often been questioned: his defensive contribution.

"I have to take another step forward defensively. I've always been demanding of myself, and I think I need to improve in that area. It's important for the team, and I'm going to do it."

Mbappé explained that the reflection came after discussions with his brother, Ethan, who regularly challenges him on the importance of defensive work. The France captain acknowledged that his younger brother is stronger in that area and views the criticism as an opportunity for improvement.

"It has to start at this World Cup because we want to win it. I'm ready to do things right because I want it at all costs."

The striker recently emphasized that team success remains his priority above personal achievements.

"I'd sign up to not score a single goal in exchange for winning the World Cup. I'd do it quickly."
