Maurizio Mariani has been appointed to officiate the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash between Real Madrid and Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on Wednesday at 9:00 PM CET.
It will be the third time that the Italian referee has taken charge of a Real Madrid match in Europe’s top club competition.
Matches refereed to Real Madrid in the Champions League:
- Real Madrid-Leipzig (2-0). First phase 2022/23.
- Lille-Real Madrid (1-0). First phase 2024/25.
