Real Madrid is actively working to find the best solution for Franco Mastantuono's future, with the Argentine expected to leave the club on loan this summer due to the fierce competition for places on the right wing.

According to journalist Guillermo Rai, both Mastantuono and River Plate are interested in a reunion. The 19-year-old reportedly views a return to his former club positively after enjoying the best spell of his career there, while River are keen to welcome him back.

However, Real Madrid has a different plan. The club's priority is to loan the youngster to a European side so he can continue adapting to the demands of European football before eventually returning to the Santiago Bernabéu. The strategy mirrors the development path the club has envisioned for other young talents, allowing them to gain regular first-team experience at a high level.

At present, Fulham and Fiorentina are the leading European contenders for Mastantuono's signature. A move to Fulham would reunite him with former Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa, while Fiorentina also offers the prospect of consistent minutes in a competitive league.

Despite the European interest, Mastantuono's reported preference remains a return to River Plate. If no suitable European option materializes, a one-year loan back to Argentina could become a realistic possibility before Real Madrid reassesses his future.
