Lucas Vázquez has backed Real Madrid’s chances of overturning their deficit against Bayern Munich, speaking in an interview with Radio Nacional de España. Now playing in Germany for Bayer Leverkusen, the former Madrid player expressed confidence in his former side’s ability to deliver a comeback.

Real Madrid head into the second leg trailing 1-2 following the first match at the Santiago Bernabéu. It is a demanding challenge against a Bayern side that has shown strong attacking form and consistency.

In his assessment, Lucas left no doubt about his belief: "Real Madrid is capable of anything . We saw that in the first leg at the Bernabéu." He also acknowledged Bayern’s performance, adding: "Bayern played a great match, but nobody would have been surprised if it had ended 2-2."

The Galician, who has previously faced and defeated Bayern on multiple occasions, also addressed the upcoming clash in Munich: "Madrid will have their chances in Munich , they'll try to take them and from there, hold off a Bayern side that is putting on spectacular performances at home this season ."

Drawing from his recent experience against Bayern in the Bundesliga, he concluded: "They are very reliable, but Real Madrid is always Real Madrid."
