Real Madrid secured their fifth LaLiga victory of the season with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Elche at the Martínez Valero.
Mourinho’s side dominated the first half and took the lead through an Arda Güler free kick that deflected off the goalkeeper and into the net. Kylian Mbappé then doubled Real Madrid’s advantage before half-time, putting the visitors in a strong position at the break.
Elche responded after the interval, however, scoring twice to bring the game level and put Real Madrid under pressure in the closing stages.
With the match heading into its final moments, Carlos Espí stepped up to score the decisive goal and secure all three points for Real Madrid.
The victory keeps Mourinho’s side on course in LaLiga, with the team showing character to respond after losing a two-goal advantage and finding a late winner at the Martínez Valero.
