Vinícius Jr. was once again subjected to racist abuse during Real Madrid’s 2–1 defeat away at Osasuna on Saturday, prompting La Liga to open an immediate investigation.

Footage circulating from El Sadar appears to show sections of the home crowd chanting “Vinicius, muérete” (Vinicius die) toward the Brazilian forward. Spanish football authorities have confirmed they are reviewing the material as part of a formal probe.

According to The Athletic, this incident represents the 26th documented case of racist abuse aimed at Vinícius across 10 different stadiums in Spain since October 2021. The figure highlights the ongoing and widespread nature of the discrimination the winger has faced throughout his La Liga career.

Sources close to the player described the latest episode as deeply saddening, though unfortunately not surprising. The incident comes just days after UEFA launched a separate investigation into alleged racist abuse involving a Benfica player during the recent Champions League playoff first leg against Real Madrid.

Amid the hostile atmosphere, Vinícius once again responded on the pitch. He scored in the 73rd minute to level the match at 1–1, continuing to be Madrid’s most decisive threat. However, Raúl García struck in the 90th minute to seal a late victory for Osasuna, handing Álvaro Arbeloa’s side a painful defeat.
