The suspension of concerts at the Santiago Bernabéu until April has sparked widespread discussion, with former Real Madrid star Guti weighing in on the matter. Known for his passionate support of both music and his club, Guti expressed his hopes for more concerts in Madrid during an event for Mahou.
"I hope there are lots of concerts in Madrid. It's a city that needs them. I, for example, am passionate about music. I love being able to go to a concert," Guti stated. However, it was his follow-up remark that has stirred controversy: "Where there is a concert, there is no need for an Atlético-Rayo match."
This comment has not gone down well with Atlético Madrid fans, as Guti referenced a local derby. Many Atlético supporters have since voiced their displeasure, even calling on DAZN to remove Guti from his role as a commentator for La Liga matches.
Guti’s love for music is well-known, and he frequently attends concerts with his wife, Romina Belluscio, and friends. However, with the Bernabéu's suspension of events until at least April, the former player will have to look elsewhere for his next live music experience.
