Florentino Pérez used the General Assembly to update members on the progress of the Santiago Bernabéu renovation, delivering a clear message: concerts will soon return, although coordination with local residents and institutions is still ongoing. The president confirmed that one of the most important stages of the project, the soundproofing of the stadium, is close to completion. “We are finishing the soundproofing work in the stadium, and the project will be completed next December,” he stated.

Bringing concerts back is a key element in the new Bernabéu’s business model, yet Florentino admitted the process has been complicated. “We had an issue with the neighbors, and we are in talks with them. Everything has its limits, which is goodwill, but we will do everything possible to avoid disturbing the neighbors and ensure they can enjoy themselves,” he said. He stressed that the club is trying to balance all interests and that negotiations remain active.

He also explained that public institutions are involved in adapting the area around the stadium. “We are working with the Regional Government and the City Council, also on the parking,” he said, while noting that part of the slowdown is due to external requirements. “The City Council is asking us for a series of things that we should not have to do or be forced to do. When we finish talking with the City Council, we will let you know,” he added, suggesting that key decisions are still pending.

Florentino highlighted improvements in mobility around the Bernabéu as well. He mentioned that the Community of Madrid is moving forward with public transport upgrades. “The Community of Madrid is remodeling the new metro station. It will be one of the most modern stations in Europe,” he pointed out. He also noted that the club is working on improving all access points, with particular attention to people with reduced mobility. “It is one of the most sustainable stadiums due to its location,” he emphasized.
