Real Madrid took the first step toward the Endesa League semifinals with a hard-fought 82-76 win over Baskonia in the opening game of the quarterfinal playoffs. The team now heads to Vitoria on Friday with the chance to seal the series.
The victory not only gave Madrid the upper hand in the tie, but also marked a historic achievement—their 27th consecutive home win in the Endesa League, setting a new all-time club record.
It was a tightly contested matchup, but Real Madrid pulled away with a dominant third quarter. Edy Tavares led the charge with a stellar performance, recording 16 points, 13 rebounds, and a PIR of 35. He was backed by a well-rounded team effort, with six players scoring between 9 and 16 points, underlining the squad’s depth and cohesion.
