Marc Cucurella has spoken publicly for the first time since his move to Real Madrid was made official, discussing his transfer, José Mourinho's influence, and the possibility of being reunited with Enzo Fernández.

In an interview with Radio Marca, the Spanish full-back revealed that Mourinho played a key role in convincing him to join the club.

"When a coach like Mourinho calls you, it's something to be proud of. He wrote to me and then called me. For him to call you and tell you things is very important. I'm eager to start working with him. I'm in great form and I'm really looking forward to playing for Real Madrid."

Cucurella also acknowledged the challenge that comes with representing the club and the demands placed on every player.

"It's a big challenge. All the players at Real Madrid are good. Fitting in at Real Madrid isn't easy. You have to be at 100% every game. Every team wants to beat you."

The defender also discussed his future partnership with Vinicius Junior on the left flank, making it clear that he is prepared to take on the defensive workload to allow the Brazilian to focus on his strengths.

"I think we'll get along well. I don't mind if he doesn't track back; I'll do everything he doesn't want to do. As long as he's decisive and fresh enough to score goals, I'll do the dirty work. Vinicius has shown that he's a key and influential player in Real Madrid's Champions League campaigns."

Cucurella also addressed the possibility of Enzo Fernández joining Real Madrid this summer. The pair were teammates at Chelsea, and the Spaniard admitted he would welcome a reunion.

"He's a great player and a friend of mine. He congratulated me on the transfer. I hope it happens. I would be very happy. We were very happy at Chelsea, and the possibility of both of us signing for Real Madrid in the same summer... I hope he's lucky and becomes a Real Madrid player."
