Real Madrid’s training ground at Valdebebas became the scene of a crisis meeting on Monday after the team’s second consecutive La Liga defeat, according to COPE.
Álvaro Arbeloa first met with the captains before addressing the entire squad and coaching staff. Although he publicly claimed after the match that he had no reproach for his players, behind closed doors he called for “an extra effort in this final stretch of the season.”
Sources close to the dressing room insist the players have not given up on the campaign. While they acknowledge that the situation is extremely delicate, the squad remains determined to respond and fight until the end.
The urgency is heightened by the upcoming trip to Balaídos to face Celta Vigo, a challenging fixture that could see Real Madrid playing it without between eight and ten players due to injuries and suspensions.
