The first setback of the season has emerged for Real Madrid Castilla, although the situation appears to have been resolved quickly. The reserve team has experienced its first internal disagreement, with Jorge Cestero involved in an incident with coach Julián López de Lerma last week after being left on the bench against Sant Andreu.

The situation required intervention from the club and, once resolved, Cestero was left out of the squad for the match against Alcorcón.

López de Lerma did not hide that the midfielder's absence was a technical decision, although he did not explain the reason behind it. "We're focused on player development. We want all the players to be able to showcase their abilities, compete, and be part of the team," the coach said, while also highlighting Cestero's importance to his plans: "Jorge will be a very important player for us this season."

The club decided that the disagreement should have consequences, with Cestero's absence coming in Castilla's 1-2 defeat to Alcorcón. Although the situation now appears to have been resolved, questions remain over how long the decision will last, particularly with the Madrid derby approaching. It remains to be seen whether Cestero will return to López de Lerma's squad for that match.

Cestero had already been a substitute against Sant Andreu, although accumulated fatigue was reportedly a major factor. Just days earlier, he had played 80 minutes in the Under-20 Intercontinental Cup final at the Bernabéu, where Juvenil A defeated Santiago Wanderers 3-1.

Despite the setback, Cestero has enjoyed an impressive season so far and has already scored his first goal. He has established himself as an important player for Castilla and also impressed during pre-season with José Mourinho's first team. The midfielder was one of the academy players given the most opportunities, featuring in all four pre-season friendlies.
