Daniel Carvajal has looked back on his time at Real Madrid in an interview with Diario AS. The former Real Madrid captain, who left the club this summer before joining Getafe in recent weeks, has given his first interview since beginning this new chapter in his career.
"I'd pay a lot of money to relive something like that, honestly." The Spanish full-back used these words to describe the unforgettable nights he experienced at the Santiago Bernabéu during his time with Real Madrid.
"The atmosphere in those Champions League matches is indescribable. When they announce 'six minutes of added time' over the PA system, the stadium transforms," Carvajal explained, recalling the extraordinary atmosphere during the many European nights he experienced in a Real Madrid shirt.
The defender also admitted that he is still adjusting to life away from the club and its familiar routines. "There are days when, after dropping my kids off at school, I almost make a wrong turn and head straight for Valdebebas."
After spending 13 years with Real Madrid's first team, Carvajal is experiencing his first season away from the club. However, his emotional connection to the team remains strong, as he revealed when discussing the recent Clásico.
"El Clásico? I watched it wearing a Real Madrid shirt. I was nervous."
