The Holy See has confirmed that the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium will host a meeting between Pope Leo XIV and the Diocesan community of Madrid on Monday, June 8 at 7:00 pm. The event forms part of the apostolic visit the pontiff will carry out in Spain.
Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to arrive in Madrid on the morning of June 6 and will remain in the capital until June 9, before traveling to Barcelona. The visit will then continue to the Canary Islands on June 11, with a return to Rome planned for June 12.
This will mark the second time the Santiago Bernabéu hosts a papal event. On November 3, 1982, Pope John Paul II visited the stadium to lead a Celebration of the Word attended by thousands of young people from around the world.
