The Santiago Bernabéu will send a powerful message to the world before kickoff against Benfica. As the players step onto the pitch, the stadium will unveil a giant mosaic displaying two clear statements: “No to racism” and “Respect.”
The initiative comes in response to the events surrounding the first leg and underlines Real Madrid’s firm stance of zero tolerance toward racism at their stadium. The message is expected to resonate globally on one of European football’s biggest stages.
The match has been classified as high-risk, as is standard for Champions League fixtures in Madrid. Around 4,000 Benfica supporters are expected to be in attendance, marking one of the largest away contingents at the Bernabéu this season. The stadium will be at full capacity, with tickets having sold out more than a week ago.
Interest in the clash extends far beyond the stands. A total of 31 television platforms will broadcast the game, while 246 journalists have been accredited in the press box. Additionally, 144 commentators from rights-holding media outlets, 75 photographers, and 14 flash zones have been confirmed, highlighting the global spotlight on this European night.
