Jan-Christian Dreesen praised his team after Bayern Munich’s win at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, but also issued a clear warning ahead of the return leg against Real Madrid.

Speaking during a post-match dinner that brought together players, staff, and fans, Dreesen highlighted the importance of the result while keeping expectations grounded: “It’s a fantastic game situation… but we’re only 1-0 up. If someone had told us before the game, we would have taken it. But Real Madrid have the quality to turn this around at any moment.”

He specifically pointed to the danger posed by Vinícius Júnior and Kylian Mbappé, underlining the threat Madrid still carry despite the deficit.

Dreesen also took a moment to recognize Vincent Kompany, who reached his 100th official match as Bayern coach: “You prepared this team exceptionally well… especially for this stadium.”

The CEO didn’t hide his admiration for the Bernabéu atmosphere: “The Bernabéu is one of the greatest stages in world football. This stadium can suffocate you if you let it… and we felt that today.”

Finally, he reserved special praise for Manuel Neuer, whom he described as the difference-maker: “Today we had something Madrid didn’t have. Our X factor… Manuel, you were extraordinary.”

Despite the advantage, Bayern’s message is clear: the job is far from finished.
