Raúl Asencio will miss the upcoming match against Getafe after being diagnosed with a cervical strain, the club has confirmed. The center-back was involved in a heavy collision with Camavinga during the Champions League match against Benfica, an incident that forced him to leave the pitch on a stretcher and be taken directly to the hospital for further examinations.

Asencio suffered the worst consequences of the clash. Both players went up to challenge for the ball, but the defender bore the brunt of the impact, with the force of the collision causing his neck to snap backward in a scene described as particularly violent. As a precaution, he was immobilized with a neck brace before being transported for medical tests, all under the supervision of Niko Mihic, head of Real Madrid’s medical services.

Although the situation caused significant concern at the time, the diagnosis confirms a cervical strain, ruling Asencio out for the Getafe fixture while his recovery continues to be monitored.
