Real Madrid secured a 3-1 victory over Stuttgart on Tuesday night, but not without some tense moments. Los Blancos fans were on edge as Stuttgart hit the bar in the first half and appeared to be the stronger side for stretches of the game.

In the second half, Stuttgart equalized Kylian Mbappé’s opening goal and looked dangerous, leading some critics to question whether Real Madrid's win was truly convincing.

“I've coached over 200 games in this competition, and I don’t remember any of them without suffering,” said Carlo Ancelotti.

"Real Madrid knows very well what it means to win in the Champions League through suffering. We’ve won the last two Champions Leagues by defending well and using the pace of our forwards."

He continued, “We need to work on possession, but we can’t forget that the easiest way to hurt the opponent is to get close to their goal as quickly as possible.”

Ancelotti highlighted previous tight victories, adding, “Last year, we won the first game against Union Berlin in the 95th minute and suffered a lot. The same against Getafe.”

“There’s nothing new about suffering. If anyone thinks games are won easily, they’re mistaken. You have to fight, compete, and suffer too,” concluded Ancelotti.

Ultimately, the result matters, and Real Madrid knows how to secure victories in the Champions League.
