The relationship between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain has long been strained. From the never-ending Mbappé transfer saga to the clashes over the Super League and the stark differences between Florentino Pérez and Nasser Al-Khelaifi, tension has defined their connection in recent years.

But now, it seems the PSG president has taken a step toward reconciliation. During an EFC (formerly ECA) event, Al-Khelaifi surprised many with a rare display of goodwill: “We’re a family. We want everyone back, that’s the truth. Real Madrid too — we want everyone back. This is their family and their home; it’s everyone’s home.”

The words sounded like an olive branch extended toward Europe’s most powerful club.

Still, the Qatari executive didn’t shy away from reaffirming his stance on the Super League, a project led by Florentino Pérez: “We don’t need any other competition. We already have the best club tournament, now with even better formats. That’s what we want — and it’s what Barcelona wants too. We’ll see what happens.”

He concluded emphatically: “The Super League was dead before it even started.”
